Is this online whiteboard really free?
Yes. Every tool, export and template is free, with no trial and no paid tier. It is built and hosted by Dplooy, a website host, as a free tool.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. Open the canvas and start drawing. There are no accounts, no logins and no email address to hand over.
Where is my whiteboard saved?
In your own browser, on your device. The board autosaves as you work and is still there when you come back. To keep a copy somewhere else, choose Save to file — it downloads a .whiteboard file you can open on any computer.
Can several people edit the same whiteboard at once?
Not live. This whiteboard has no server, so there is no real-time collaboration. To work with someone, send them a share link: it opens an editable copy of your board on their device. For a live session, share your screen while you draw.
Does the whiteboard work on an iPad, tablet or phone?
Yes. Draw with a finger or an Apple Pencil (pressure included), pinch to zoom and drag with two fingers to pan. On phones the toolbar moves to the bottom of the screen where your thumb can reach it.
How do I export a whiteboard as an image or PDF?
Open the menu and choose Export image to download a PNG or SVG — the whole board or just the selection, with or without the background. For a PDF, open the exported image and print it to PDF from your browser.
How do I share my whiteboard with someone?
Choose Share a link from the menu and copy it. The board is compressed into the link itself, so nothing is uploaded, and whoever opens it gets their own editable copy. Images aren't included in links — send a .whiteboard file for boards with pictures.
Is there a dark mode or blackboard mode?
Yes. Turn on Dark mode in the menu for a dark canvas that is easier on the eyes and works like a blackboard in lessons. Your drawing keeps its original colours when you export it.
Can I add images and paste screenshots?
Yes. Use the image tool, drag files onto the canvas, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl + V. PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP and SVG all work.
How big is the canvas?
It's an infinite canvas: it keeps going in every direction, and you can zoom from 10% out to 3,000% in. Shift + 1 zooms to fit everything on the board.
Does the whiteboard work offline?
Yes, after your first visit. Your browser keeps a copy of the app, so it opens and saves without an internet connection.
